Kompanija Apple namjerava svoje nove iPade predstaviti 22. oktobra. 
Nove vezije iPada će biti predstavljene u Cupertinu ili u San Franciscu. Radi se o iPadu 5, koji će biti tanji i lakši od prethodnika, a dobit će i bolju kameru. Osim toga, predstavljen će biti i iPad Mini 2, koji će biti dostupan u rezličitim bojama, kao što je slučaj sa iPhoneom 5C. Peta generacija iPada bi mogla imati i tehnologiju prepoznavanja otiska prsta poput iPhonea 5S. Nedavno su se na internetu pojavile fotografije koje navodno otkrivaju izgled iPada 5.
